Diy chalk board paint

Sometimes my pinteresting addiction hits the highest point, at the moment I’m stuck on my Travel board, pining all things my wandering mind wants to see. Earlier on I had a crush on all those pretty walls and home decor painted with chalk board paint. Couldn’t get rid of the idea to make myself something like that. So, I decided to paint my door and see how it works.
diy chalk board paint There is only few ingredients needed but I couldn’t find it without a help of salesman, so if you’re like me- just take what they give you. If you want to make your own you should get:
x Black acrylic paint (or any color you want)
x Non-sanded powder tile grout
x A brush
x A sandpaper
Process is no other than easy: just mix approx. 3 parts of acrylic paint with 1,5 part of tile grout. Some offer to add water baser medium glaze (1,5 part), yet, it worked for me without it quite well also. So if you’re on a budget you can try a “two ingredient” version.
After mixing everything (don’t hurry), apply the paint on your desired object, if you see a need to coat more than one layer- be patient and wait for a first layer to dry. Also, it is highly recommended to sand a paint before applying new layer.
For pro crafters  you can also check MarthaStewarts recipe. Never thought I’ll be using this name on my blog, yet, rumor has it that she was a finder or this idea.
A final step, of course is to buy some nice colorful chalk and start working on it.
IMG_2212P.S. my door turned out dark brown since my tile grout had this hard red-brown shade. At first I wanted a black board but I couldn’t find white grout. It doesn’t look to bad and is kind of old-school. Anyway, I recommend to use a white one, so no unexpected colors will turn out of nowhere.

Chromat interpretations DIY

Even since, I saw Chromat stuff, I knew I could do some crazy stuff to get a piece from there. Anyhow, I resided to make something visually similar, so I used elastic and just mixed and matched ends randomly. Didn’t turn out perfect, but I still like the idea itself so that will do for a first time.
collageIt’s pretty much easy DIY and you can sew everything by hand. If you’ll try to do something like this- make sure you’ll put some dedication since every inch can “dis-balance” a shape.

Easier that DIY

aIMG_00817I recently bought some adjustable rings for key chains, accidentally to be honest, I just didn’t check a size properly. Since, I don’t like leaving things unused I found them quite nice as a minimal rings. The greatest thing is that size can be greatly moderated.
diy rings 11You can check for something similar on Ebay: herehere or just enter for adjustable rings in craft section. It’s a bargain that can be turned into impressive necklaces or maybe you have idea of your own?

It’s so weird that spring is just a continuation of winter, it’s cruel. I’m still in my all winter furs, but I want to wear some nice skirts, light dresses and run run run in the wind gardens (of Eden?). I think I’m not the one, am I?

Fancy Quartz pendant DIY

DIY pendant project

I’m a total fan of rough semi-precious stones, I think they look just perfectbecause of imperfection. Quartz is one of “minimal” stones that looks great for everyday jewelry, so I really wanted to do something nice and here it is!
This Quartz pendant DIY is super simple and inexpencive, just surf Ebay for parts. diy deadlyinlove blog pendant quartz diy blog
There’s two ways to do it, if crystal is rough I recommend to use wire and if it’s smooth use a bail. DIY quartz blog necklace diy pendant diy ORDIY pendant quartz

Watch into ring DIY

ring from vintage watch parts diy blogUntitled-1diy blog ring Since I’ve found a few old watches at home, I knew there’s something cool I can make of it. So today I sat down and “constructed” a ring from bracelet of watch. I disconnected part of bracelet needed (size of a ring) and when tightened it with pliers. Some bracelets are different so I think I’ll connect it with jewelry wire. It turned to cool pretty awesome! What you think about this DIY?
